Paste lines 1–7 together
Swap the name, street, city, and date. If you are alone, write Es para una persona. If you study, write Estudio. For a room, write habitación and verla. Send it on Idealista, Fotocasa, or WhatsApp.
Le means you (usted). If they use te, or say tutéame, switch to Te escribo.
Me gustaría is the conditional (“I would like”). Somos dos only counts the tenants. For both of you, write Nos gustaría, not Nos gustaríamos. Podría is the conditional of poder. This usted form means “you could”, softer than puede. The -me in indicarme means “me”.
Pro tip: Paste 1–7 as one note.
Bills, the deposit, one nudge
Incluidos agrees with gastos. Amueblado agrees with piso. A room takes amueblada. Thursday is the subject of viene. Ha llegado is the present perfect.
With tú, write por si no te ha llegado. Quisiera is the imperfect subjunctive of querer, for politeness, not the conditional (querría). See the imperfect subjunctive.
Pro tip: Send 16 and 17 once.
Try it now:
Cover the English. Paste Le escribo por el piso and ¿Sigue disponible?.
Then paste ¿Podría indicarme un día para verlo?
Type the form you missed in VerbPal.
Frequently asked questions
Should I use tú or usted when I write to a landlord in Spain?
Start with usted: Le escribo, ¿Podría indicarme un día para verlo?, and ¿Le viene bien? Many private landlords reply in tú. If they use te, or say tutéame, switch. An agency often stays on usted. Follow the person who answers.
How do I ask what is included in the rent in Spain?
Ask ¿El precio incluye los suministros? and ¿Están incluidos los gastos de comunidad? For the deposit, ask ¿De cuánto es la fianza? These are questions about that listing. They are not a statement of what a contract has to include. For a softer line, say Quisiera saber de cuánto es la fianza. Quisiera is the imperfect subjunctive of querer, used for politeness, not the conditional.
